The Nobel Prize for Literature        prizes1

is an international literary prize that has been awarded annually since 1901. According to Alfred Nobel, it is for literature that is “the most outstanding work in an ideal direction.” The richest literary award in the world, it is presented every year on December 10th in the Blue Hall of the Stockholm City Hall.

The Nobel Prize for Literature 2015 is going to be awarded to Svetlana Alexievich.

Man Booker Prize

This prize is awarded to the best novel written in English. Formerly, to contest for the prize one had to write in English and be from the Commonwealth of Nations, the Republic of Ireland or Zimbabwe. This year every author from around the globe can be nominated, as long as the novels are published in England.
